Thank you to the 181 students who estimated the number of Skittles in a water bottle. There were 583 Skittles in it. Congratulations to 6th grader, Clayton Thorman, whose estimate was 586 and was the first place winner. Congratulations to Kindergartener, Grace Prusakiewicz, whose estimate was 600 and came in 2nd place. #proudcardinal

Kindergarten students are learning to read short vowel words. To help clear up any confusion with b/d letters, Mrs. White taught them how to use their “B Hand”. Using their left hand, they can make a lowercase letter /b/ and compare it to the letter they find in a word they are trying to read. If the letter looks like their “B Hand”, it’s a /b/. If not, it’s a /d/.

Parents of BK-3rd grade students, have you seen this envelope in your child's backpack? It is for a deposit in their Childhood Savings Account. Our next deposit day is Thursday, April 6. Do you know that children with savings accounts from $1-499 are 3 times more likely to attend college and 4 times more likely to graduate? That being said, the money in their Childhood Savings Account doesn't have to go toward college. It can be used for other career training such as trade schools and other fees. #proudcardinal #LCCF #elgacreditunion
