🚛 Community Helpers Spotlight: Truck Drivers! 🚛

This week at Strong Beginnings and GSRP, we had a very special visit from one of our amazing community helpers — a truck driver!

Our students learned all about what a semi-truck hauls and how important truck drivers are to our everyday lives. From delivering food to grocery stores, supplies to hospitals, materials for construction, and even toys and clothes — truck drivers help keep our communities running smoothly every single day!

The children asked wonderful questions and were so engaged as they learned how much responsibility comes with driving a semi. We talked about safety, long trips, and how truck drivers work hard to make sure stores and businesses have what they need.

We are so thankful for the opportunity to connect classroom learning to real-life community helpers. It was a great day of hands-on learning and curiosity! ❤️

Thank you to our special guest B. J . Forrest Trucking for taking the time to teach us just how important truck drivers are to our community! #proudcardinal

Mrs. Howell’s 6th graders are preparing to read the 4th book in the Percy Jackson Series, which is called The Battle of the Labyrinth. They spent the day battling it out Battleship style with a game where one student plays the Minotaur who has placed walls and traps for the other person to avoid as Theseus, who is trying to get to the potions and sword that were stashed around the Labyrinth. Students are using skill and strategy as they venture deep into the unknown! #proudcardinal

How is your child feeling about school? Let's help them feel connected and seen.

MYTH and FACT: Myth - Minor colds or sniffles mean kids should stay home. Fact - Children can usually attend school with mild symptoms. Following school guidelines helps kids stay engaged while keeping everyone safe. #drydenelementaryattendance #strivefor5 #mentalhealthmatters #studentvoice
